The PG Engineering Club was recently asked to create a part for the middle school Engineering teacher, Mrs. Oedy. She accidently broke a flap from the dryer vent at her home. Instead of having to drive to a hardware store and spend the time/money to fix it herself, she brought her issue to the PG Engineering Club. Matt Buess was able to carefully measure and create a 3D model of the dryer vent part in Autodesk Inventor. Using the 3D printer, he replicated the piece in just 20 minutes! Mrs. Oedy then took the new part, and it snapped perfectly into the existing gap.
The PG Engineering Club sold personalized coasters from December 5th to December 12th (see "PRODUCTS" tab). In total, we sold 222 sets of coasters! In only two weeks, this project was challenging, yet very successful. Sanding, cutting, lasering, varnishing, packaging, gluing, and numerous calculating went into this task. Members of the Engineering Club came in before school, after school, and even put in long days on the weekend. Without some of the extremely dedicated members this project would have been certainly impossible. Members of the club definitely gained some experience in manufacturing processes. We feel fortunate to be able to bless the community with personalized coasters. From all the work put into this, we hope the community can see our dedication and thinks of PG Engineering next time they need a product or service.
